Ebook Formatting Tutorial Website

I created this tutorial for a school project. It's how I create the LRF/Mobi/Epub formatted ebooks for the Ebook Library. The tutorial mostly mentions epub however what works for epub will also work for the other formats. Epub is the format with many weird exceptions and the css has to be more exact.

that is a great tutorial! thank you! One question: I'm trying to format a collection of poems, and I'd like to force a pagebreak without having a chapter heading appear on the next page. How can I do that with h2 tags?

I normally use this code

 

when I want to force a page break and not have a chapter header appear on the next page.

I think what may be happening is that you're using the h2 tag on two lines of text one after the other?

Is there anyway you can take a screencap of what's happening? I'm a little bit confused as to what's happening.

Thank you so much for this tutorial--I've been going out of my mind trying to understand how Calibre works. Hopefully I'll be able to create my own epub files now--there were a couple of things I just couldn't get right.

I know what you mean. epub is so frustrating sometimes and what works with other ebook formats will not work on epub. That's why I put down exactly what I do with screencaps to hopefully help others avoid the frustration I went through in trying to figure out why my images aren't centered.

I think the next tutorial is going to be re-sizing cover images to fit on the ebook better. banner images get stretched and look horrible so you have to add more canvas to the picture before importing to Calibre. (just a tip!)
