Ok, bear with me please. I know this information is out there somewhere, it's probably been asked a million times, but please keep in mind, I'm old!!

A couple of times, I've downloaded fanfic and successfully gotten it on my Nook. But, I do a bunch at a time, so it's usually quite a while before I need more. Then of course, I have no idea how I did it. What I want to do is write down the way to download and then keep it on file. That way I always have it and don't have to waste time figuring it out, and just get to reading!!

So please can I have downloading fan fic for dummies? Probably most of what I want to download is archived stories that you just click on and read. How do I get those downloaded? I've used squeebook, I have Calbre and the fanfiction downloader, but like I said, I don't remember what to do.

Thanks!

Lori
And contrary to my name and icon, I don't read a whole lot of SPN fanfic any longer!! Back to good old S&H!

I have a kindle touch and I am trying to figure out an easy way to get LJ Multichapter fics into one epub/mobi file. I already use the epub conversion website so that I can easily get all the chapters into epub - but I can't find a way to actually combine them into one epub file.

I have tried Sigil and I can't figure out how to make it do this even reading the FAQ it just keeps saving one chapter at a time, even when I try to copy and paste multiple chapters from the files.

Does anyone have a good way to do this or am I stuck either doing large amounts of c&p or just naming a ton of epubs as Series: # - Title/Chapter... or using Instapaper to capture them all if they are unlocked and not age protected and get them that way which is messy but does work too.

Also while I'm asking - does anyone know if they managed to figure out how to create collections on the Kindle Touch since it's programmed different than the older Kindles?? I had been following that on the mobile reads forum but it's pretty technical discussion :/

Thanks in advance! :)

Has anyone used the Fanfiction Lightweight Automated Grabber (FLAG)?

How does it compare to Graffer and Fanfiction Downloader in terms of ease of use and the appearance of the finished e-book?

I use Calibre to put .epub files on my Sony PRS-505 if that makes a difference.

Okay I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here but I found two posts of interest for anyone who is converting their Word Docs to html. :)

The first is Convert Word Docs to HTML I haven't tested it, but it looks interesting. :)

The other is People! Stop using Word to convert to HTML! All I can say is AMEN!

I'm officially switching programs that I use to convert documents to HTML. I'm now using WordPerfect X4 instead of MS Word 97.

I thought this may be of interest to the community or for anyone looking to convert their rtf/doc files to HTML without all the crap Microsoft Office throws in.

Corel WordPerfect X4

I'm testing out the publish to html in trial download version. So far it's doing a great job of creating plain html for the document. There is this one line of weird code but replace all took care of it. Plus this program is new and up-to-date so it should work on Windows 7.

I've been having issues with MS Word 97 in that it would not apply italics correctly to each paragraph and etc...And the other issue is that not everyone has it so for converting fanfics to ebooks MS Word 97 is about 10 years too old to be much use.

This looks really interesting. I haven't had the chance to test it out but I thought the community might like to know about it. :)
