Ok, so I feel really stupid, but I JUST got my first ereader for Christmas. It is a Pandigital Novel so I have just been reading fanfiction online. But now I am going on a trip and would like to save some either on my ereader or an SD card. Can someone tell me or give me a link to a site that tells me how I can do this. For someone that is not very computer savvy.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Date: 2012-01-13 01:09 pm (UTC)1) All fanfic at the Archive of Our Own (ao3.org) has a button in the upper-right. .mobi is the file you want if you have a Kindle, otherwise use .epub.
2) There are a lot of really long fics I wanted that aren't at AO3 (FF7 fandom represent!), so I use Grab My Books for that. Watch about 2 minutes of the YouTube video on that page, and you'll be good to go.
3) I manage the fanfic e-books I've created (and other e-books) using Calibre. Like, you can use Calibre to add cover art, to tag your fic to make it easier to find, etc.
Good luck! I'm relatively new to this, too!

Date: 2012-01-13 03:42 pm (UTC)For "how to get the fics onto your reader/card," the User Guide PDF doesn't say how to sideload ebooks onto it, just how to buy them from Kobo, but you could either wade through the website (maybe they give easy instructions somewhere?) or call customer service at 1-800-715-5354 and ask them either "how to sideload ebooks" or "how to load ebooks from other sites onto the device." (There's no universal way to describe it, and the customer service people are sometimes really oblivious to the concept of owning ebooks you didn't buy from their sponsored store.)
